Post-CHI Summer School on

Usable Privacy and Security

The summer school will include a mix of keynotes and lessons from prominent academic and industry scholars working on interdisciplinary research on topics within the domain of Usable Privacy and Security. Summer school students will participate in guided hands-on activities for applying what they have learned to devise novel solutions and/or research ideas for addressing practical challenges in privacy and security. The plans additionally include an excursion to the world’s longest castle and lab tours of academic research groups and/or industry sites in Munich.

Interested in making it easier for people to manage their online privacy and security? Apply to participate in the Summer School on Usable Privacy and Security that will take place right after CHI 2023 in a former Cistercian monastery in the beautiful landscapes of Bavaria near the Austrian border. The school is ideal for early stage Ph.D students, postdocs, and others who are interested in learning about multidisciplinary human-centered approaches for tackling privacy and security challenges and develop research plans that can lead to publications following the summer school. Accommodation, meals, and local transportation from Munich to Raitenhaslach will be covered for all selected participants.
